Hechale Productions is a performing arts production company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an active artistic presence in Mexico City and connections in Spain. The company produces theatre, performance, and interdisciplinary work, and develops programs for artists and audiences across the United States, Mexico, and Spain.
Under the artistic direction of Héctor Zavala, Hechale Productions develops and produces theatrical and interdisciplinary projects, as well as artist development programs, educational initiatives, residencies, workshops, and international collaborations. The company works with artists, educators, and cultural practitioners across disciplines and supports the development and presentation of new and existing work.
Hechale Productions is rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area and maintains an active presence in Mexico City, where the company produces work and operates Centro Cultural Casa Hechale, its cultural center in Santa MarÃa la Ribera. The company also maintains artistic relationships and collaborations in Spain.
CASA HECHALE
Casa Hechale is the Mexico City home of Hechale Productions and a cultural center dedicated to theatre, film, performance, and artistic development.
Located in Santa MarÃa la Ribera, Casa Hechale provides space for artistic creation, rehearsal, performance, education, and residency. The center includes a black box theatre, rehearsal and working spaces, a gallery, and spaces for workshops, readings, and community programs.
Casa Hechale presents artist residencies, Actor’s Lab, Playwright’s Lab, performances, workshops, readings, exhibitions, and other cultural programs. The center welcomes artists working in theatre, performance, film, writing, dance, design, and interdisciplinary practices.
